Again Pitcher Domination

So this really is the year of the “Pitcher”. What do we owe it to?
 Is it better pitching?
 New creative pitches?
 Higher mounds/larger ballparks?
 Better Drug Testing?
What do you think the correlation is?

Don’t think I have the answer, but it has great to see all the no hitters and perfect games. Roy Halladay did it under playoff pressure for his first career post season game. Congrats!

Many of my friends and teammates left this past week for their winterball assignments. Best of luck to them. I am still working out where to play this winter. I will keep you all posted.

I’m sure it’s due in part to excellent athletic trainers and for some pitchers it could be due to postural realignment.

Scot,
Great post as usual. I have a question though. I’ve been following you on twitter, and you’ve been saying that you weren’t getting a winter assignment, then you did and it was in Venezuela, and now you said it’s on hold. Why is there so much confusion with this situation? Does it have something to do with the fact that you’re a free agent?

Thanks for any information you can provide.

thanks for the comment….winterball is very weird sometimes…the contracts are not “really” a legal piece of paper and things are always up in the air. With winterball many players sign early during the season to play. When some get called up in September they then choose not to play because they have already extended their season or made the money they thought they would make in winterball. I was all packed and ready to go just waiting on my itinerary today when my agent called and told me things were on hold. Not too sure of all the details, but I still may head out there later this week. Winterball spots open up all the time. Teams take it very serious as it is a business and they all want to win. If someone isn’t producing they will ship in a new player. The season in VZ opens up tomorrow night.
